For those of you who replace the treble hooks on top water lures with inline hooks, do you replace the front hook facing forward or backward? I have always faced both hooks backward to avoide snags in floating grass. But, another angler recently suggested that the front hook should face forward so it won't lay flat against the body of lure when retrieving. Any experience with successful hook up ratios either way--more fish caught on the rear hook versus front hook or viceaversa under either configuration?

I had a couple hours of free time this morning, so I decided to poke around a few spots on incoming water shortly after daylight....started off with a Zara Spook and it was " game on" for about 30 minutes......caught 5 on top water....the biggest being 18".. Chunked the screwtail for about 30 minutes after that, catching two more keepers and a few shorts and came on back home....as the tide started flowing harder the water got very dirty. It's not a big catch for most of you , but after all the hurricane stuff and tons of debris in the water....I can go have a few beers , clean the boat and the fish with a smile.
