Usually just standing in a beaver pond. The boat is transport, I’ll use it to get into a spot and set decoys, park it down a ways then kayak or walk back over to my place to hunt. I have even parked it in places to prevent birds from landing there instead of in my spread. This has worked from the lakes all the way to the coast in SC.
