FINCHASER
Trying to figure out if its worth the money? Ive done some research on it and I cant really seem to find any detailed info what functions it has vs cable controls? Ive seen info that somehow you can adjust engine speed for trolling but nothing on if that comes as an available function on the 6YC gauge or does it need other (optional expense) hardware? So anyone know excatly what capabilites this system has?
FINCHASER
Cant believe no one knows this....? Well it took alot of reaching out to find out, FYI maybe itll help somebody but you can adjust motor speed on the 6yc gauge in 50 RPM increments, there a "trolling" menu in the gauge
jh141
I can do that with my VF 200 sho and command link (6Y8) gauges. The SHO uses a type of fly by wire on the throttle body and cables on the shift. The only thing I like about my buddies black motor is how short and smooth the fly by wire controls are. If I had a big boat with twins it would be Yamaha fly by wire. With a single under 25 feet there is not a big advantage.

FINCHASER
Thanks JH Ill give it a read. Thats part of why I asked cause im trying to decide if its really worth the money, at least with the trolling function it will give me some functionality
linesider 159
Not worth it. In a twin application it is nice. I just went from a 300xs with hydraulic steering and mechanical controls to a 400 verado with power steering and fly by wire. If I had to pick I'd do the power steering upgrade because that is so nice to have on higher hp motors
