The bottom supports used as chase for upper controls and added wt. normally not used on reg boxes. Can be as wide as you want between supports. Have had boxes on every boat I have had with a t top. Ill have to check into that Regular box’s have no supports under them. Their mounted to the underside of the t top frame or each side of the box.
