LessImpressed Posted February 27, 2020 Report Posted February 27, 2020 Can anybody tell me the brand of live well pump that Hewes installed OEM on a 2015 Redfisher 18? A photo is attached. The thru-hull comes up and "t's" and goes to the two strainers and then the two pumps. One is dead and the other can't be far behind. Thanks in advance! SCFD rtrd. Posted February 28, 2020 Report Posted February 28, 2020 I wouldn't be so concerned about the brand. Just match up the correct GPH and buy a pump with replicable motor cartridge. Keep the strainers clean, so the motor doesn't labor to deliver water to the live-wells. When cleaning the boat, back-flush the live-well pumps and strainers so salt water doesn't sit in the system.
Shallowminded6 Posted February 28, 2020 Report Posted February 28, 2020 ^^ use a Rule or Shurflo that has replacable cartridges. Might have to install the housing the first time. But way easier down the road. My housing is threaded. Im sure yours is too most likely.
