FROZEN
Guys, I have a 24 v MK riptide with iPilot. Works great and all I need. My back and balance on the bow makes deploying and stowing the TM difficult, as I get older. My SO gave permission to get an auto deploy/stow Ulterra, but at $2-3k, I’m looking into “lift assist” as a less expensive alternative. Question..... does lift assist work well? Question.... does MK make/offer a retrofit kit? Can’t find on the web, and MK is closed for Corona, at least they have stopped shipments and working from home. fin-addict
I’m in the same boat. Been thinking the same. Good question. My MG varimax killing my back. Looking into MK Fortrex.
smilemaker
The shaft on the lift assist has a indented track for the spring steel to slide in, so a retro fit would depend on shaft shape. As to weather it helps the answer is YES. I can tell a big difference when I lift it to deploy. With all I hear about self deploy I would opt for lift assist. Word on the street is that all Johnson control is shut down, some say thru the summer but that doesn't seem practical.
