dermanville@yahoo.com Posted May 31, 2020 Report Posted May 31, 2020 Quote Hi, First post. First Hewes. My son just picked up a 1996 Bayfisher Lappy 16. It had a 70 HP Johnson 2 Stroke on it that just scorched a piston. We have the opportunity to re-power with a 2017 E-tec 90 HP, which weighs 320lbs. Will this motor be too heavy for this boat? Thanks in advance. BTW we love the boat! Quote
Attitudeindicator Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 I don’t think it will be too heavy. but I would be nervous going with an etec since they just discontinued them. I have a 16 bonefisher that I put a Yamaha F70 on and really enjoy it. It’s only 253lbs I believe Quote

Be advised that they will honor all warranties and continue to produce replacement parts. That e-tec will be fine for your boat. 1 Quote
HoneyB Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 I wouldn’t buy one unless it was heavily discounted. I doubt there are many folks lining up trying to buy the last ones in existence. Quote
