Did a bit more work last night....more to come today....

here's the GPS set up - yes, simple, but, functional.

We installed a Blue Seas switch panel under the seat with 6 switches....one for each bilge pump, one for the lights, one for 12V switch.

Once I have some time between fishing opportunities....I"ll fancy it up...

Right now the idea is to get into the water and go feeeshing...

Weather cold and windy, but, DonH and I will be doing a sea trial later today.....

I used to have a Bob's stabilizer plate on my Pathfinder when I had the jackplate...plan is to add one in the future....so, I installed it...it should help provide some more stability in the turns and the T's tend to slide a bit....and the hole shot should "pop"......we'll see.....

More to come later today with updated wiring pics and the PowerPole install.

When I bought the boat, the fuel filter had not been changed in a long while.....like 5 years...it's amazing that this is all we found....

24839243886_b331fe88a3_h.jpg

Bought 20 gallons of Rec fuel and loaded it up with my fuel filter just to be sure.....

The tires on the trailer were originals...2011...I decided to purchase two new Maxxis from the on-line dealer.....arrived in a few days and I've have great results with them previously....

I also installed the metal stems vs rubber.....I've read and heard one of the top reasons for blow outs is warn rubber stems....

Never seen the fuel filter/funnel before. Do you notice it catching stuff? I'm always using portable cans to fuel my boat since I don't p*** any gas stations on the way to Flamingo.

During hurricane season, I buy 20-30 gallons in 5 gallon cans for the generators...it sits from June to December and I've found it sometimes gets a little gunky...

I used it for water as well...I've found some small amounts of condensation...

For this application, I bought the 20 gallons and wanted to be sure I was beginning with a fresh start...

Everything looks good Dino & DonH!

I'm eager to see pics of how the boat sits in the water alongside dock...something tells me that ya'll are gona have to keep those scupper plugs in at all times!

If I had to guess, the draft of this rig while poling will be a true 7-8" with all that equipment, 2 people, gear, gas, etc. If so, then look for me to be poling near you guys in dem bights ;) lol

Yeah, guess I'll have to loose some weight :)

Let's see....she's well balanced IMHO...

if you take the fuel @ 18 gal plus 2 batteries and TM, you are at about 250 lbs on the bow, plus PP, rear battery, and charger, you add another 100 on the stern....you are looking at 350 total, plus Don H and Me, I'd say she's nicely balanced....the extra weight should add a couple of inches..so, 6-8 is probably in the range....

Let's see.....

Anyways, I don't pole much, so for me, it's about running skinny and getting up into them and out of the bights vs poling about them..

Some Further upgrades and pics:

The boat came with a Yetti that was mounted up on the front deck.

With the new TM, I decided to move it back a bit and used Kennedy Tie downs to hold it...i place it up a bit from the hatch...it allows old guys like me to sit on it with one foot up and another on the deck....very comfortable...I don't store anything in the front deck, other than some light things which are not used during fishing...so, no need to access the hatch...

here's the attachment for the yeti.

Yetti with a cheap catch all basket..use it a lot for hooks, etc.

And, what's a skiff without rod holders ???? :)

I like to chunk when fishing creek mouths....and I placed two Lees' my buddy gave me up on the front deck..

Always keep a chunk in the water...never know who might join you for dinner :)

Measuring the drill hole....

I love the smell of burning fibergl*** - reminds me of......"redfish" :)

Looking nice! Is the catch all basket suctioned to the Yeti or screwed in?

Why do you think they call him [color:blue]Captain Dewalt[/color]

:content: :content:

Given the option of suction or screwing....i prefer screwing....

:)

Right now, I'm just sort of "sticking" things on to get it "fishable" for me and DonH and other buddies.

in 2017, when I've got a few months in the Summer, I'm going to do a complete refurb....paint the hull and redo the decks, hatches etc.

more pics over the weekend...hopefully some feeeesh in the da bote.

How about 2 ???

Got a deal on some PP's from Hydrilla Gear's special on the net...and had sold some camera gear and could use my Paypal account...couldn't resist..

24716806203_b5150de3ee_h.jpg

'the breaker we installed on the panel allows for up to 80 amp, so I installed a new breaker to cover the two PP's...they require a 30amp breaker each...

I got them in place yesterday and they are in sync....

Can't wait to get them out on the water....

Here is the HPU in opposite corner of the hold...I placed them backwards to permit storage and not having any hit the unit when running in rough water...

PP"s extended....

Panel:

Note, I used a simple plastic tupperware to cover it against any damage...

enjoy the read...

More to come..I've identified some water intrusion...so, I'll share the fix soon...

PROJECT RUB-RAIL

After finding some water dripping from under the gunnels over the weekend, I decided to remove the entire rub-rail. I just finished doing this today and re-sealing with 5200 When I pulled the rub-rail I found gaps of about 1/2" in some cases where the silicone had separated....I tried the pull and re-seal; however, I was still having water intrusion.

It took me about 1 hr to remove it...I then found many of the screws had come loose...I used 2 full tubes of 5200....I used a Fein Master tool to clean under the rail and cut the old silicone flush in spot where I could not get it all out...

Afterwards, I unscrewed all the tap screws along the cap and then filled them with 5200 and screwed them tight...after, I filled the gaps with 5200....I used a putty knife as a trowel to clean make the filling even....it was a 'f'n'n mess...but, I know now, there will be no more water intrusion from under the gunnels spray.

I will be replacing them rub rail today and will install one bead of 4200 along the underside of black as another....BUT, AFTER I GOT INTO THE RUB RAIL...I FOUND ALOT OF WATER INTRUSION..AND THIS WAS AFTER I PUT TWO TUBES OF BLACK 4200 ($40..UGGH).
