TampaBoy
3 of us are looking at doing 2 to 3 days with a guide for reds, snook and tarpon. Any recommendations for a guide/places to stay. Thanks
conocean
The only place to stay in Flamingo is the campground but there are 4-5 places to stay in Everglades City and/or Chokoloskee. There are many good guides in the Glades. Here are a few that come to mind... Flamingo- Alan Sherman Bob Lemay Everglades City & Chokoloskee- Brian Sanders Peter Babb Have a blast! Wanaflatsfish
Great choices... For other guides, Mike Merritt and call the Outdoors resorts office... ask for Kenny, he can give you data on Ray and Houston.... I see them all the time on the water...with FEESH dc

fin-addict
when speaking to a guide, make sure you tell him there are three of you. a lot of guides will only take two persons. had that problem several years ago in that area and elsewhere. Good point. Also ask about the equipment the guide provides (or if you can bring yours), whether they use braid or mono, and will catch live bait if that's how you want to fish. Not bad mouthing anyone, but if you like to fish with braid and live bait one of the guides mentioned in this thread may not be your best bet. Also, check the guides type of fishing....pole and sight cast or live bait..... And yes, BB is one of the tops; however, he's fishing a poling skiff and might not comfortably accommodate 3....check. dc

Donh
For Choko/ Everglades City the Everglades City Motel is pretty good, especially for a fishing trip. Reasonable and clean. Outdoor Resorts has kinda slide into disrepair. The restaurant next door has got some of the best fried shrimp around and the fried key lime pie is special. dh

rubble
I love staying at the Everglades Club/Pleasure Island. You can VRBO several... https://www.vrbo.com/88995 https://www.vrbo.com/612760 https://www.vrbo.com/330090 https://www.vrbo.com/285963 https://www.vrbo.com/7077314ha All very clean. Pull boat in to private dock. Some guides go out of Rod & Gun and one has boat on lift right across from main island entrance/dock. Can motor across river to go eat or have the island manager taxi you over. We usually take plenty of food to cook there and if we are too tired to cook, we will head across the river and go eat somewhere in town. A little expensive but most cabins hold 6+ so it makes it much more appetizing.
