Mike45q
I understand that you can get bracket to install the PowerPole on a Atlas Jack Plate. Is there a reason to do this versus installing directly on the hull. Is 4 more holes thru the transom a big deal. Mike
linesider 159
Bracket keeps it closer to motor and out of way, if you add a 2nd it is easier. If you upgrade or need to replace it is easier. Basically, if you can afford the bracket i say definitely get it. And of course, no drilling holes in something that floats
justfish
I've had it both ways. I guess looks are subjective, but I think it looks better mounted directly to hull. Other than that, I can't think of an advantage to mounting to hull.
triplec
As others have said basically it depends on the application your situation calls for. If I had a jackplate I would likely do the bracket too though.

mustang190
Make sure you get the bracketed jack plate mount. I installed one on my boat onto the Atlas jack plate. Easy, took about 1 hour start to finish.
