kcros11
I just bought this boat and I'm going to put a minn kota terrova 80lb on it. I know most guys with the 22' run a 60" shaft, but I wasn't sure if that was too long for the 20' I understand that longer is normally better, but I was worried the 60" would hang over the side when its stored, and no one has any troll motors in stock for me to lay on the deck to check. I was hoping someone on here had some experience with the 20'. Thanks for the help.
Bamaskeet
The length of the trolling motor depends on your usage. If you fish a lot of flat water you can get away with less than 60” trolling motor. But if you expect to fish lumpy conditions, you will be much happier with a 60” trolling motor.

skeetman68
I have a Minn Kota 80lb co-pilot with a 60" shaft on my 2000v. If it's mounted right, it won't hang over the side. Personally, I recommend the 60" shaft; it will cover any situation for you...
HewesYourDaddy
I fish a 54" MinnKota on my 1900T (pretty close to same boat as the OP). Go with the 60". I have an extension handle on my TM which makes it ok to use, but I'm always on the lookout for a good condition 60" motor.
