I have broken one and can only seem to find them in clear acrylic, which im afraid may break again over time. if there isnt anything on the market, is there any reason having some cut out of polished aluminum wouldnt work? thanks! conocean Posted January 26, 2016 Report Share Posted January 26, 2016 They can definitely be a pain. Never was a fan of that system on our old HPXT. Ours weren't clear acrylic, they looked like fbg? Be careful using metal pole holders. They're one of the leading causes of push pole damage. Hence the reason Stiffy recommends non-metal pole holders. jason p Posted January 27, 2016 Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 I had pics of a replacement one I made for a friend but I think the Chinese or the NSA stole them. Anywho... get a hole saw for the inside radius the pole sets in (1 7/8" if memory serves, but double check) and use that radius for a reference for the rest of the part. I screwed the old part to the new Starboard, so the screw holes were on the side of the new Starboard that lays in the deck cut-out and just traced an exact copy. It probably wouldn't look bad to put slicks where the old pole holders are and mount the stiffy holders on those slicks. A good gl*** guy should be able to make it look nice.
