Phinz13
Hello all, Just got in a new set of chrome raised decals to replace and am trying to find out if anyone has been able to match the color/font for their registrations #s? If so any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
hurricane
I've had these on my last 2 boats. They look great, don't know if they have a font like you want. But they are raised and you might find one close. https://www.3dlettering.com
smilemaker
I know it is picky but some dnr officers can be having a really bad day and want to take it out on somebody. Most states have specifics on letter size ,fonts and color that for the most part are overlooked. Before dropping too much money in custom lettering I would check with a friendly game warden for his input.
Bamaskeet
The Coast Guard regulation call out for 3" block letters of a contrasting color. There should be a 3" space between the state and the typical four numbers, and then a 3" space to the letters. I was stopped many years ago by the Coast Guard because there wasn't 3" between my numbers and letters. There isn't a good reason to give the lawmen a reason to stop you. Phinz13
yeah, i though about the legality of it and checked the fwc site and got the same info. The definition of "contrasting color" is very open. Maybe I'll stick with good old white on my blue background
SCFD rtrd.
I also have the chrome 3-D registration numbers. Any lawman worth his salt will not take issue with these letters. By definition, they comply with Coast Guard regs.

Dominion
Hurricane, Which style do you use? Their website doesn't give a preview of the selected style. The PRO SPEED style seems to have a forward tilt to the letters which is somewhat close to the Pathfinder logo. On a white hull the chrome center with black outline is probably the best match. Thanks, David

hurricane
Wow they changed their website, and its hard to use. There are no good picture of the letters with font name. They used to have a rotating display of all the letters with the names. I know I went with Super Sport, but that might not help you much. I don't have a Pathfinder and thats the font you want to match. I would send them an email and see if they can help you figure it out. The numbers are very nice and are worth a bit of h***le to figure out.
SCFD rtrd.
Yes, I just looked at their web-site, they changed everything. No pictures of their products like in the past. On a good note, I found some raised, chrome 3-D registration numbers on E-Bay with good pictures. Looks just like the stuff we use to get from 3Dlettering.com. Josh B
Yahhhh... what they said! 3DLettering.com They turned out great, but these seem larger than normal to me. Still look good, but they are nearly twice as big as the standard cheapo letters. [image]http://i68.tinypic.com/wi7a5c.jpg[/image] [image]http://i63.tinypic.com/x10v4h.jpg[/image] Josh B.
