I like the changes they made to the 2021 RF 18 too. I recently sold my RF 16 with the 115 SHO, so I'm ready to park another boat in the garage. I still have only 20'10" of depth in the garage so size matters. Here are a couple pics of the swing tongue setup on the Ameratrail that folded in even with the bow of the skiff. This was the only way the boat would fit in my small garage, unless the boat trailer could be turned at an angle, and I didn't want to do that. Houlester
That is sweet geeviam! I’ve never seen such a cool swing tongue. You have certainly taken advantage of the space you have.
GlennF
I’m a big fan of Rhodan too. Good luck in your search.
Guest DavidG
Geeviam, again not stealing GlenF post, This really isn’t a conversation on which boat is better but more of the versatility between the 2. If I only fished 100% inshore or in the ditch, then the 16 would be a good boat. I like the option of fishing or trolling the tide line a few miles offshore on the calmer days. Where I wouldn’t use the 16. The newly redesigned 2021 RF with the minor changes ( especially) that cushion is a God send, I’m constantly cutting my calf’s on those toggles that hold the cushion on. Plus getting into your storage area is a pain with that cushion. But no, not judging anyone on the size of the boat you own or the one you might buy. There’s always the pro/cons of every boat being bought. I’m envious of those that are able to fit their boat in the garage! I have to unload everything that isn’t nailed down due to thieves, where if garage kept your able to safely keep it onboard. That’s part of the pros/cons .....David
S.Ray
Guest David G. I have an 18 RF. Under a boat house. I need a cover. I have a 115 Yamaha/ and platform. What size do you recommend? I have it clean dry. but sap and leaves from the neighbors trees blow in. I’m a newbie to RF. Sits too low for me(5’2”) , whole different problem. I had a flat Carolina skiff, an easy keeper, but a rough ride in any chop. Like the RF, but need a cover and a seat to raise me up! Thanks for any help. Guest S.
