johnd
couple of recent trips running the beach. Targets Pompano and Tripletail. I know of reports and with cold weather the Pomps should be here in good numbers, but so far only a few and all under or just legal (released). Lots of small bluefish to bite your lures off. For fun and future bottom bait catching good sized Ladyfish - all on Pompano jigs. Found fat healthy SeaTrout in the surf break the other day. Of course lots of little Jacks pulling light drag. The Tripletail are showing, one day here next day missing. Sheepshead biting - darn those things are tough to hook. Learning how to 'set the hook before they bite'. Live fleas on 1/8oz 2/0 jig heads.
