fishmanjj
After too much food and fun on Christmas Day...my son and I decided to try a little fishing just to get away from the house and grandkids....on Sunday morning with the air temp at 39F and the water at 49F....we started to have our mental doubts about decision to get in the cold boat. But..... outgoing tide proved to be kind to us....about mid tide on several oyster rake and sand bar areas after the tide dropped and left them uncovered the trout started showing up....and then a few redfish....he said earlier that it would be nice for him to take some fish back home for his family freezer, so the challenges were on.....we fished an area we call Cabbage Island off Savannah and the bite was steady for about an hour and half. We even tried white, chartreuse, and copper colors of DOA paddletails and screwtails just to see what color worked best....they all worked well.....the water finally got up to 50F about lunch time and we called it a day and headed back to the docks to clean boat and fish. Turned out to be a great fish day.
