Fish5
Family trip for 5 (3 boys ages 10-16) for fishing and fun. Taking our 24ft TRS. Looking at 2nd week in April or 2nd week June...what area will be best for 1st time fishing there? Options are Tvarnier, Lower Matecumbe Key, and Duck Key. Suggestions as to best time and area to stay/fish area appreciated
wthree3
Might have a better chance of calm winds in June. Breezy Palms is a good option in lower matecumbe. Nothing fancy but good dockage on the oceanside. Good snorkeling and fishing nearby.
GlennF
Breezy Palms is good. We like the Kon Tiki in Islamorada. I agree with wthree3, June is much better and snaps (Mangrove snappers) might be more prevalent and pretty much everything is biting well. June and September is our favorite time for backwater. April’s winds are unpredictable and July/August is so hot and often rainy. Good luck glenn
