East Coast Dave
I have a Minn Kota tiller now (24 volt 70 lb) which I think is a 52” shaft and wanting to replace with a spot lock Rip Tide. Just curious what everyone else is using. Looks like they come in a 54” or 48”. I was thinking the 54”, but the more I thought about it, I would be able to lower it more than the tiller. I may occasionally use it at the jetty but not as often as just in the ICW. Any suggestions?
whichwaysup
I have never run across someone who complained that the 60" was too long or got in the way. I have heard, and experienced buyers remorse over the 54. It is just on of those things where you dont notice having too much, but you sure know it when you have too little. Go 60.
Coto
I think the 48 only comes in 12v. Mine is 54 terrova and I wanted the 48 so it would not stick out past the rub rail but I am not going to give up 24v for 12.
Headhunter
I took my 55 inch 24volt rip tide and cut it down to get the head closer to the deck when deployed. I think it ended up at somewhere between 44 and 48 inches. I run it real shallow. You know where I fish and it works out fine for me. Headhunter
Also had the head hit the lift bar a couple of times and shorting it solved that as well.
