dstapp
There’s a local boat for sale, 1989 Maverick 18’ with a 2004 Yamaha 150 on the back. What model would this be, I asked for the serial number but haven’t gotten it yet. how many different 18’ models were made that year. It has the recessed from deck. What issues should I be looking at with such an old boat? I’ve read about tank issues and stringers. Anything else specific. Price is $8k for reference. geeviam
I would check to see if there is any wood in the transom, floors, or stringers. If there is, and you don't plan or want to do a complete rebuild of the hull - I would back away from it.
dstapp
I was reading that they stopped using wood in ‘85. Trying to ask as much as possible before making an expensive mistake. Thanks for the guidance.
eja
Where was the boat located if you don't mind me asking?
Lvnspeed
I have an 87 bayfisher that still has wood in it BTW
Lap it Up
Hewes went fully composite when they were acquired by Maverick in 1989. Scott Deal Mavericks have always been full composite material.
