Popular Post SeaSerpent123
I kinda cheated everyone. I know I know, I feel kinda bad but I did learn a ton. Out of Courtesy to the capt., I’m not going to disclose locations or anything like that. We did use shrimp on a jig head and I loved how he showed me how to work it. We also used bobbers in certain areas but for the most part, it was the jig heads. Learned about negative lows which seems simple enough but I didn’t realize that one low is a negative each day and the other not. Feel stupid not knowing that to be honest. Learned about water temp today and fronts. Pretty cool stuff how the fish move just before a front etc. Learned about staging fish compared to fishing passing though. I’m a real big fan of staging fish! Lol So let’s get the ball rolling. First spot we hit was amazing! The black drum were staging. Took a entire 5 minutes before I brought in a nice size black drum. For the next couple hours, we proceeded to catch about 15 of them. We did keep 8 for dinner and released the rest, especially the bigger fish since he said they are not as good to eat as the smaller ones. we then took a short ride to a spot to use the Cajun bobbers. This next spot produce about 5 snook and my mom finally caught her first snook. They were in the small side but mom finally got her first snook. it was tough fishing but we did hit a point and at one time, we had a triple snook bite on. We did catch a couple small reds that were safely released. I ended the day with the biggest snook that wrapped me up around a branch. The capt told me to flip the bail, lift the line up and sure enough the fish came out. Great day today! Learned a ton even though my brain of fried right now and can’t think of anything else. Time spent with Mom was priceless and the wife…..well she outfished us all today. 60% of the fish were caught by her. Absolutely love it! Tight lines everyone 4
