ReelDawg
I'm updating my electronics and I'm going with the new EchoMap Chirp 74sv. Anyone using a Garmin Side Vu imaging unit, Where did you mount the ducer? And have you noticed any issues with the dead rise angle interfering with the Side Vu imaging? Any issues with losing bottom readings at cruising speed? Thanks in advance for your help.
FINCHASER
I have my LSS2 mounted right next to the pocket between it and the next chine... works perfect and even reads well enough on plane to see significant returns
smilemaker
The reason they are so long is that they contain 3 crystals. One for down one for left one for right. I have been told the down is closest to the transom then the left in the middle and the right on the end. Since the right is on the end you should put it on the right side to decrease interference from the motor. The length also makes it harder to adjust for on plane but trial and error on heighth with a splash attachment it can be done.

Marathon Man
Fin, with your lss2 mounted like you have it with the cable towards the transom, did you have to electronically reverse the left and right views to obtain the correct image in the correct place? ReelDawg
Worked flawlessly. I had to force it to lose bottom by making a quick and sharp turn in a winding turn on the St Johns River. It regained bottom contact in a split second. No rooster tail or spray.
