Brandonttz
Hello, im trying to identify who makes this bracket to get a replacement as the weld has cracked. I was quoted $125 to fix it with me removing and installing myself. I’m wondering if a new bracket would be cheaper. Power pole says they do not make it. also are the bolts in the transom just lags bolts sealed with 4200? I don’t see any nuts and bolts in the bilge area. Thanks!! Lap it Up
Get more quotes. That's literally a 2 minute job for a professional welder. Any decent machine shop can duplicate that bracket (its not OEM), but finding someone that wants to do it might be more difficult.
Brandonttz
I’ve got a guy that will fix it no problem, I would prefer we take it off and not heat up the hull if I can help it. The problem is now is I’m not sure how it’s bolted up. There aren’t any nuts on the inside like it was through bolted and the area where it’s bolted up is filled with foam with no access. Maybe lag bolts and 5200? I don’t want to damage anything trying to unbolt and reinstalling it
redzone1
Just start backing the bolts out…..if they come out then they aren’t through bolted with a washer and nut……after you get the weld fixed then get some 6” bolts with a good sized washer and nylon lock nut and reinstall properly
