polliwog
I have 2 boats with the transducers on the stern. They are both Garmin with chartplotter and depth sounder reading. reading. Just place the position to the side of the cavity where the drain plug is, You want clean water flow to the transducer. I get good readings when running 30-35 MPH. I am using these units on a 20ft Light TACKLE AND A MAVERICK hpx
jim33042
I mounted in the same location. I would add to use a transom saver block, otherwise you are likely to have your screws pierce the inside hull. If this happens add some 5200 around the tip of the screws. I used a level to make sure I was in line with the bottom of the hull. Otherwise, good location with constant readings at any speed and constant working order of side scan.
