Whodat
I had some gelcoat repairs done all around the boat right above the rub rail. I don't like the way they did it since I can see a tape line by the rub rail. I am considering taking the rub rail off and having them redo it. How difficult will it be to take the rub rail off (its a 2001 model)? And do you think I will be able to reinstall it? There is nothing wrong with it, but I am sure its hardened up over the years. Carolinadrifter
You need a heat gun, good flat head or pry bar and a rubber mallet for re install. Pull out the insert and then just back the screws out all the way around. You can take it off by yourself but may need another person to help hold/ stretch it for re install. If the insert is shot or you mess it up to bad consider replacing with a white or black rope. Old school look.
