BLAINE
I have the opportunity to buy one and I think I am going to pull the trigger. Anyone have any feedback? Any known issues? I know they are fairly rare. I wanted another boat with a super shallow draft to explore Chokoloskee and Pine Island.
Headhunter
Had one built and loved the boat. Hated it for the 40hp Yamaha. Loved how shallow it ran and how it took a light chop. Tournament fished at that time and it was a challenge to keep catch alive for release and it was too slow. Sold it for that reason and went to an s model. You can call or PM me and I can tell you anything you need to know.
polliwog
I have one of the rare 15 HPXs with a 40 HP on it and I think it is marginal for power and speed. I agree with Head hunter the boat should have at least 50 and maybe 70 depending on weight. There boats are very weight sensitive. The strong points are getting really shallow and very maneuverable when poled. If it is wet you can sneak in. You are right that the boat would be perfect for the spots you are talking about. I'm past the point of poling so I use a small trolling motor which is perfect for what I;m doing. Good luck with your what you are trying to do. BLAINE
Thank you guys! It has a tm. Hopefully, my son will occasionally pole me though!
