smooth move
made a test run with my fishing partner for a club tourney today. found fish from Jones to San Luis P***. caught on maniac mullet, gulp jerk shad, spooks and spinners. must have had 25 or 30 blow ups on spooks today and only hooked up on one trout. drives me crazy! Tiki Man
Tough day on the water. Fished three areas of West Bay around Deer Island and got a few nibbles but no solid hits. I guess it may be true what they say about high barometric pressure giving fish lockjaw. Otherwise, it was beautiful out there! Did anybody else have any luck this morning? smooth move
well, 2 good trout and a 1/2 dozen slime cats. couple went 7-8 lb and were a lot of fun to catch. one really had me believing it was a red, ran all over the place and took good drag, but in the end it had whiskers and slime. still a great day on the water---like gl*** this morning

Tarpon1215
I have been told that they are good to eat. The cats that is!
smooth move
not bad table fare, but a PITA to deal with. if you're keeping them, you need to keep em separate from everything else and hose em down real good to remove the slime before fileting. RipTide
Never eaten the stinky slimy whiskered ones but always heard the sail cats are the fare table ones.
