flynnfishn
Anyone done any? Is it worth trying fly fishing only not interested in soaking bait, don’t need your secret spot, just trying to figure out if it’s worth the work cause i have a 2 hour drive down there. Friend was just there and not fishing for tarpon said he saw plenty.
rckeat
I'm not sure if anyone has ever caught a tarpon on fly in Virginia. I fished for them on the shore 1 time, but we were soaking bait.
rckeat
So it would appear that I was misinformed. But not many people have ever caught one on fly in VA. https://www.anglersjournal.com/saltwater/tarpon-fishing-virginia
Moderator
Could you live chum with some white baits and then match the hatch when they come in ? Its not pure, but it will make a 2 hr ride home better. MM
flynnfishn
Great article thanks for sharing! Looks like it’s easier to just come to Florida twice a year!
Bguthrie28
There’s been tarpon in the pamlico sound from fishing reports… I will be looking for them this August. I know they are around Charleston and can get pushed north from long period swells or hurricane swells
