castafly
I would like to know if anyone has found a better solution in mounting these covers over the recessed trim tabs. I am surprised that they are mounted with drill holes and screws which have worn out over time. I filled in the holes and was going to re drill but before doing so, I wanted to know if there was a better solution. Looking forward to hearing any suggestions. jason p
Does it look nasty if you just leave them off?
hurricane
If the gl*** has some thickness, you could drill and tap. Use like #10 screw. I have tapped the transom before to install Rabuds and transducer.
Yellow mouth
Don't have a better solution, but like you, I took off my tab covers to inspect and broke off a few of the screws in the process. One of the covers had a chip in it and needed some gl*** work. Once completed, I liberally applied a good marine grade silicon and reinstalled. Good luck.. castafly
The inside is not too bad. However, it does look better with the covers on though. I will probably screw it back on and call it a day. Thanks
