Good Tidings
OK...I need some help. In times past I have been lazy and just buying pinfish for live bait at the marina I use. Well they have closed and I have not heard or it re-opening any time soon. I reckon now I will have to catch my own. What size cast net is best for catching bait? 99 % of the time I will fish inshore. Any particular brands to look for? Thanks all and tight lines!!! hurricane
No less than 8ft, and no bigger than 3/8 mesh. Tim Wade is great net and I have one, but there are plenty of others. If pinfish is all you're after, try a pinfish trap. Might have better luck.

Lap it Up
X3 for Tim Wade. Call him and tell him what kind of bait you want to go after and he will build you the net you need. He's also very reasonably priced.
RICH12
I like the betts nets. Have economical and super pro. I think about where ill be throwing it. If near oysters\snags, i use my cheaper net just in case. Larger the net, the heavier to throw with my one handed technique. 7-8 ft 3\8 mesh is my preference. X2 on the pinfish trap. Suggest the smaller one. Jp
nicecast
Tim Wade will make you what you want for roughly the same price you will pay in the store. 8-10', 3/8" or 1/4" mesh should be perfect for what you describe.

mustang190
I have always said, every father should teach his daughter three things. 1. How to shoot 2. How to change a tire 3. How to throw a cast net Knowing those three things she will be ready for what the world can throw her way. :content:
