fishinbill85
Hi all, hope everything is well and everybody is having a great holiday weekend (I'm working ) I'm wanting to put a mechanical fuel gauge in the top of my tank and need to know the depth. Was wondering if anybody knows that has done this already or has done anything to their tank requiring it to be measured or such. OR how do I go about getting that measurement? Thanks
Tarpon1215
Take the fuel sender under the hatch in the console off the top of the tank and prob the bottom with wooden dowel or steel tape.
TommyG
I found a thread on here that it is 10" for a 2004 2200. that's what I just bought, so I hope it is correct
Jeff G
I installed this one in my 2002 2200v: WEMA USA SSS/SSL110 SSS/SSL Fuel or Water Level Sensor (4 - 60 in.) Length: Length - 11.0 in. It was 66 bucks with shipping. Has worked well for the past three years.

Thanks use your GPS...fill the tank...run a couple of trips, calculate mileage after you fill to top...always better than a gauge. dc
fishinbill85
Thanks, I am gonna check out the 10" mech gauge from Moeller. I don't see how averaging mileage would help with determining the fuel level unless I ran the exact same distance and RPM/load every trip. Which I don't. I was wanting the mech gauge so I could see the level at a glance. As I fill up from certain levels of use, i'll check the gauge so I get a rough idea of how much fuel is gone when the dial is reading half tank...etc. You get the idea. Thanks for all the input and suggestions!
smooth move
i used the moeller gauge for awhile and it's a good quality product. i got battery acid all over it and it took a dump, so i rewired and went back to electric, but it was a good gauge. fishinbill85
Was yours for the 10" tank? *Update* I measured my existing sending unit and it is roughly 10". So that's the one I ordered. FYI if anybody else is interested in doing it.
