noah
I have a 2007 pathfinder 2200v with a pop up gas cap. You turn the gas cap to tighten and then push down on the cap and turn it with a key to make it flush with the deck plate. I have replaced the gas filler ***embly once because the cap locked in the down position and could not be removed. After one year the new cap is doing the same thing and I cant remove it. Why is this occurring? Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Can I buy just the cap and not have to replace the entire filler unit? Thank you
fishinbill85
Mine is tethered to the boat by a steel cable that is screwed to the bottom of the cap. When it gives me trouble I undo it and clean it up, lube, then re-install. I think you could put a fixed cap in

smooth move
sometimes mine won't stay down and i figured out that the cable clip was getting in the way of the cap seating properly. i have to be sure that the cable curls down into the tube and doesn't get hung in the cap seat. Miss Jazzy
Thanks for your help. The cap is out of stock and has been discontinued. It said that when I ordered mine too. I called and they said it wouldn't be a problem.
