1806v vs 1900v vs 2000v picking the right one next

I think I have narrowed down my next boat to either the 1900v or 2000v PF.

It will be for use in the S Georgia coast but also trailer around for some bass fishing and pilgrmages to the glades once or twice a year.

So it needs to cross those nasty Georgia sounds (jekyll, SSI, etc) but then still fish as shallow as possible. These two candidates seem to be the closest to the mark and I am extremely satisfied with my current 17T PF. I had the 1806v on the list too but i dont know. I fished in one in TX a few times and it had zero storage and i think my family wont like it... but I liked its simplicity a lot. should I add it back to the list? How would it deal with those sounds? in tx it was shallow bays and that's a lot different than a 100ft deep sound when the wind is blowing.

Id like to hear all opinions but my current concern is the fishability of the back end of these models. The 19 seems to have basically no rear deck and the 20 has a tiny one. My friends 2200 is very difficult to get around in the back when there are any rods in the rocket launcher. I'm wondering if these models have the same problem? and Is there room to get by the consoles in these when rods are in the console racks instead? I dont bring a ton of rods usually, so that is an option.

Any additional thoughts on this decision would be great. I have until march or april before I can even consider buying one - but if you are considering selling let me know, we could make a deal.

If there is any other model to consider in the MBG family I am all ears? Like the 19 cobia - Ithought was super cool but i have no info on hull or anything, just saw one in the keys once and thought it looked cool.

thanks gang

PIC FOR ATTENTION, ill miss these guys when I leave florida - and my little boat too. /sniff

I have not owned the 1806V, but, from what I've seen, it's a great "$$ value boat"....if you can find them....

The 19V and 20V never seemed to go long term in the market so PF pulled them...it always seemed to be a "tweener".

If you are going to keep your 17T...oh, how I miss my skinny mini...but, not the beating in a. good chop :)....but, it was cheap to run and maintain with a pressure washer and some soft scrub.  With the 17T you can go skinny when you like and with a larger PF for family weekends....

I'd go with a 22 PF if you are thinking about family time....look for a 2006 to 2010 and you can find some decent values...there were problems with the 2005/04 with the stringers ( I had a 2005...fixed under warranty)....100% satisfied after the repairs.

If you can find a PF22 with low hours, you'd be golden....I ran a F150 and a 4 blade and it ran fine for me....WOT 43-45.....5-6mpg....great hole shot...the 150 is bullet proof and only needs a major service at 500 hours for the drive train belt...it's about $750 repair...so, check to see if anything you are considering has had this service..

Enjoy the search...it's 90% of the fun :)

Thanks so much. Mentally i dont think i could handle more than one boat at a time. I obsess while completely neglecting my cars. Someday…

Your point on the 22 is well made but I have to run deep then fish skinny plus several cross country trailer rides per year so smaller is better.  What do you think of the PF 2005 (the model not the year). It seems to be narrower than the 2000v by 5inches but with better finishes. What's the hull difference?  Draft? Ride? Plus they made them more recently, until 2019 I think. If its the same hull as the 2000v then it seems awesome.

i happen to be going where these 19-20ft models were likely designed to sell, Georgia to SC coast - but there just aren't enough people to buy them there I guess.

I didnt know about this 2005 option initially because of the 2005 year vs model confusion.

Love your thoughts, thanks!

Ive had them all, a couple of 17 and 18.5 Maverick Master Anglers, an 18 redfisher, 2 Pathy 2000v, a 2006 2200v, a 22TRS, and now a 24 TRS.  THE 2000v with an f150 is a great 2 person fishing boat.  Laid out exactly like the older 2200v……basically no room to stand behind the leaning post and center after livewell……not much room behind the leaning post in my 24TRS for that matter.  It has decent storage, with an F150 will get 5 mpg at 30 mph and hit 48 to 51 wot depending on load and conditions.  It does OK in nasty inshore chop, but honestly if it’s too rough inshore for that boat, then it’s too nasty fish anyway.   They quit making them because there wasn’t much difference in price between the 2000v and 2200v both with an F150 so most buyers just went for the 2200v.  For one or 2 people fishing inland Georgia for trout and reds, it’s a very good boat that is about as easy on gas as you can find.  They pop up for sale on here occasionally usually in the mid to high $20,000s.  If you find one with an F115 just know if will be a 38 mph boat wide open.  I really liked both of the ones I had and would get another, but my growing family needed more room.

I had a 2005 2000v with a Yamaha F150. I ran that boat all over the place. Ran the boat up to Flamingo from Key West on several occasions.

I loved the boat because it was simple, easy to clean and held 50 gallons of gas which was nice for the longer runs.

It rides great, just have to remember that at the end of the day it’s still only a 20’ bay boat. If you choose your days it was perfect.

Fishing with 3 people or less is fine, anymore and it gets tight.

Here are a couple pictures of running it up to Flamingo and the Cape from Key West. This thing sipped fuel!!

I love this, my kind of guy. I think my plan will be to wait for either a 2000v or 2005v to come around with a 150 (or no motor) - i think the 1900v may be a bit too small for my needs based on all the feedback... not worth the inch or two diff in draft.

glad you are narrowing your search....hard to find many used boats without motors that are in good shape.....good luck in your search and creating your own dream boat....lots of fun...

Better finishes???!!!

Here is my (former boat) 2000V with over 1000 hours.  It was great in the very shallow water and handled the afternoon chop very well (that's why God inverted trim tabs).  I only sold it because I spend a lot of time in remote waters and with 1,300 hours, I decided to sell her.  It's a long swim back to Flamingo from Lake Ingraham.

Loved that boat, if they had still made that model, I would have bought a new one.

Good luck with the search.
