sscoville Posted April 20, 2024 Report Posted April 20, 2024 I’ve read that there are aluminum plates inside the foredeck of pathfinder boats (I have a 2000v) for mounting trolling motors. Does anyone know the thickness of the plates and has anyone tapped the plates to receive the mounting screws in areas that can’t be through bolted ? Quote
Bamaskeet Posted April 20, 2024 Report Posted April 20, 2024 I believe they are 1/4” thick and yes you can tap into them. Quote
sscoville Posted April 26, 2024 Author Report Posted April 26, 2024 Can anyone confirm I have these plates in a 2011 2000v? I haven’t noticed any aluminum shavings when I’ve drilled my holes. Thank you. Quote

I have NEVER just used the plate....I always through bolt at least 2 where I can reach them.... yes, I think it's 1/4 inch... the locations are on the website of MBG dc Quote
George Seither Posted April 27, 2024 Report Posted April 27, 2024 Thru bolt with backing plates if accessible Quote
sscoville Posted April 27, 2024 Author Report Posted April 27, 2024 I don’t think I hit any aluminum. I can only through bolt 2 of the 4 fasteners. I’ve never been able to find a brochure for the 2000v, I don’t think. Quote
George Seither Posted April 27, 2024 Report Posted April 27, 2024 Go to pathfinder information, first topic brochure and scroll down, I put one link to a site that had a 2200V, folks and MM have been pinning items to that topic on different models Quote
sscoville Posted May 3, 2024 Author Report Posted May 3, 2024 It seems my decks do not have the aluminum plates. Idk why they he 2000v would be different, but I definitely did not hit any aluminum when drilling holes in the area shown to have plates installed on other models. Quote
HoneyB Posted May 3, 2024 Report Posted May 3, 2024 I wish I would have taken a picture of the underside of my project master angler. Not because it had a plate under it but because it had a lot of stainless wall anchors pulled tight into the fiberglass. My first thought when I saw them was well if anyone ever had a doubt it the anchors worked I can tell you they do. Quote
