Comparing 20' pf to 22'

Hello forum family. I'm hoping to get some experience input from pf owners/operators if you would be so kind.

I had an '04 22' TE for 9 years, them I followed my job which took me away from the saltwater. Loved the boat but had no need for it in the foreseeable future at the time of the move so I sold it. Long story short, I couldn't live without the saltwater fishing so now I'm back and currently looking for a good used pathfinder.

i have my eye on a 20' '06 powered with a f150.

I have no experience with the 20' model at all. My question is for those who have experience with both the 22 and 20. How would you compare the two? Any input or helpful pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all.

While I don't have much ride time on a 22 (just a few hours), I have about 800 hours on my 20.   Recently repowered from F115 to an F150, and have really enjoyed the boat.   It's very dry for a bay boat, quality seems excellent, and is an excellent bayfishing platform.   I have a 4" Bob's jack plate on mine and get a lot of use out of that item also.

Boat does need the trim tabs at mid range rpms, but that is only a big deal if you have an aversion to using the trim tabs.

I have a 22' and my friend a 20'.  The only two noticeable things to me is he always has to use some tab it seems.  Especially when we have the bait wells full and I don't remember ever having to on my 22' unless I wanted to change the ride in chop.  His also has slightly less room between the leaning post and console especially the wheel.  I think the overall ride especially when it gets rough is probably the same.

I have a 20' with an F115.  I agree with all of the comments about trim tabs.  My advise would be that if you can store and tow the 22' with no problem, I would get the bigger size.  My fishing from this boat is in areas where 2' wouldn't affect my ability to get where I want to go, but if you fish tight places, you might think about that.

I also recommend the 150 as opposed to the 115.  I occasionally carry 6 people, when we are scalloping, and it can be a struggle.
