Tarpon Terry
The Rule-Mate 1000 bilge pump on my 2006 2200TE Pathfinder finally failed. The motor is fried with the evidence being a bulge in the casing. Searching the web, I see that there is no replacement for that model. The present one is a Rule-Mate 1100A. Looking in the bilge, I see that the mounting basket "blue" is not the same configuration. I also see that it looks like the factory glued it to a square plate which is apparently glued to the hull. So, how have you guys replaced this basket. And how do you fit two arms in the bilge access hole.
smilemaker
The basket strainer will be bigger but the four screw holes will be the same. Take out four screws and put new strainer in. Be careful to use same screws or at least same length. Don't want to go through hull.

I would suggest you take the time to enlarge the hatch in the splash well before you attempted the bilge pump replacement.

Before Master Repair started working on my boat, the first thing they did was this.......sure makes life a LOT easier!!!!
nicecast
After years of frustration i broke down a cut a pie hole in the bottom of my rear center livewell. I was VERY careful and worked with a friend to do a very solid sealing job on the new access cover (either 8" or 10" - I can't recall). It doesn't leak a drop (that I have noticed) and I live bait almost all the time. It also makes accessing my bilge pump like a DREAM. I'll try to remember to post some pics when I'm with the boat this weekend.
Bud_man
I've found you can replace it with one hand, but it's a chore. Be sure to use adhesive lined heat shrink connectors - I double them up with regular heat shrink connectors then a heat shrink sleeve over them. Leave the cables long so you can do all the cable connections outside the hole, then connect the hose and clip it into the base plate. If the wire isn't shiny I suggest pulling new wire. It's just not worth the brain damage of wondering if it's ok - you want the bilge to work! Good luck!

It looks to be glued onto a square pad.
Geaux Time
TT, If there is room next to the old basket, just mount the new one right next to it as low as you can in the hull. I ran into the same issue a couple of years ago. I was able to do what Smilemaker suggested though and used the old holes for the new basket. Working in that hole was not without consequence Lost some skin on my knuckles not being able to see what I was doing. I too replaced the pie hole with an aftermarket hatch. Best money ever spent on the boat IMO.
Tarpon Terry
OK. Here is what I did. I took a photo of my defunct Rule bilge pump and did a "Tineye.com" search. Found a guy on EBay who had a few of the old models for sale. I bought two (2), since I expect to keep the boat for several more years. Thus, I can now use the old basket that is glued to the hull. Man, that bilge sure is dirty after sitting the water in Key Largo for 8 years. Man, I love that tineye.
