BigMike
Noticed this weekend that the grass flats seem to be shedding. The surface of the water is covered with floating grass making it near impossible to fish anything with an exposed hook. Forget about top water plugs. Even fishing a DOA shrimp is an exercise in frustration. Anybody else notice it being significantly worse this year than years past? I wonder if it has anything to do with the Okeechobee discharge? This is in the Pine Island area.
InshoreMarSpec
East and west coast. Sebastian hit hard as well. My neighbor fished this weekend up there and could not believe it.
jason p
Been that way down here (ENP) all year. Really ***, our problem is lack of fresh water, they say.
conocean
No floating grass to report from the Harney River northward to Goodland this past weekend. Lots of short snapper, snook and tripletail around.

linesider 159
Upper tampa bay has grass that is topped out making it almost exclusively fishable at high tide. Same thing happened last year but not the years before You can't fish the flats at mid tide or lower, it's actually impossible. The fish leave as a result from my experience. I actually stopped fishing UTB last year and would run down to weedon area
