Lowcountry Joe
I recently had a jackplate installed and the mechanic warned me that when I tilt the engine I must first raise the jackplate all the way up so I do not shear off the fittings to the cylinder when tilting the engine. Well , you guessed it I forgot to raise the jackplate and the pictures show the beautiful job I did shearing off the fittings. My question is can I buy new fittings, remove the sheared off piece in the cylinder (hopefully), bleed the lines and add new fluid ? Is there more to this that I am missing ? FunFlatsFishing
Looks to me like you should be able to. Those fittings should be threaded and can be removed with a wrench.
SCFD rtrd.
Google the web-site (Bay Star). I think they recommend a certain type sealer on their threaded parts. The web-site will also give you step by step directions on how to bleed the system.
