Special K
I think you are in violation of some tie flying rule somewhere. I believe the first fly you are supposed to tie is a Wooly Bugger. Nice effort.
nbk65bo
Well Done. I keep my first in my fly stuff. It looked liked a zara spook by the time i was done adding stuff to it. Welcome to another addiction. Chris.
Bruce J
I agree, you may have been the first to try a spun deer hair fly for your first. That's hard to pull off and you did very well!
wayne
thats the only fly I've been able to catch fish with,so thats where I started...

Bruce J
When I first started tying deer hair flies, my daughter was probably about 5 years old. She called them "bippity, boppity, poof" flies. I guess that's a line in Cinderella, and when I made the first two loose wraps she would say "bippity, boppity" and then when I tightened the line and spun the deer hair she'd throw up her arms and shout "Poof!". I have to think about that and smile everytime I see someone tie a spun deer hair fly.

twojs
Nice first one Wayne. You should join us (a bunch of fly tying guys with a beer problem) at the Fly Fisherman in Titusville this Saturday night. We all get together once a month and tie some, shoot some and socialize from about 5:30 til 7:30 or so. There are some good guys(and gals there) along with a few captains that don't mind giving tips and suggestions. Plus, it doesn't cost you anything! Hope to see you there.
