rubble
Was in C FL last week for my first shot at how weather fishing in FL. Learned that keeping live bait in the center live well is nearly impossible. I just have the standard pump that runs fresh water into the live well and I've added an auxiliary bubbler. Even when running fresh water into the live well with the bubbler on, we lost shiners within 4-5 hours where we can normally keep them ( from Nov to Apr) for a couple of days at times. 1. Is there any reason to try to plumb and run a recirculation pump in the live well or just run the fresh water pump? 2. Is there any type of tricks to keeping live bait alive? Ice? Water Conditioners? Oxygen? 3. Is there a stand alone live well system that would be better at keeping bait in the HOT conditions?
Miss Jazzy
Others may say different but I've never had any problems keeping bait/fish lively all day(sometimes longer) with just the fresh water running. I had recirculation pumps on both live wells on my TE but never really used them.

Headhunter
I never had trouble with either the 20 or 22 but all of our fishing is in salt water. The only time I had bait die was when we over crowded them. The maverick only has an aerator and I throw a frozen water bottle into the well summertime to keep the shrimp happy. Did some soap or something get in there. Maybe a good flush and scrub would be worth your time. Good luck.
fishmanjj
I was going to mention the soap also..........the very least amount of left over soap in the livewells will kill shrimp, mullet can survive a little.........but shrimp will die.
