Hawaii
Aloha All, I am working on an electric garage hoist for my 2003 Bonefisher 18. Anyone have suggestions on a cradle setup utilizing bow and stern eyes with one lifting point? Will the gunnels hold up with 1500lbs of weight and straps? I would like to get the skiff on and off the trailer in my garage with out too much trouble. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo! SCFD rtrd.
Do you have room to put two beams up? One at the transom and one at the bow. Then use four 1-ton chain hoist.
Hawaii
No, just one BIG laminted beam spanning the middle of the garbage. Your setup looks great with the chain hoists! If I could set mine up like this with one hoist in the middle of the garage and four connection points to bow and stern eyes that would work best. I am most worried about pinch on the gunnels with straps coming off the bow eye. My boat weighs around 1400lb.
fin-addict
run a beam from front to back and rig it the same way they do for kayaks being lifted from car top to storage position. do not use lifting eyes. use straps as the cradle. look on the net to looked up kayak storage, will show how the work. may work for you. or try rigging the same way they do for tenders on yacht decks where all straps lead to the center point using lifting eyes of the boat. good luck, fin
