Slo Poke1
Are the bearings generally 1 or 1 3/8"?
Bamaskeet
I suspect you have 3500 lbs axles, your bearings will be bigger than 1" bore. Ameratrail uses a Set 17 and a Set 4. You need to check with the trailer manufacturer for the exact sizes.
SCFD rtrd.
Most 3500# axles have tapered spindles, which means the rear bearing is larger than the front bearing. It's raining right now or I go out to my shop and look, but I thing they are 1 1/16" and 1 3/8". If you are changing the bearings, take a look at the spindle where the seal rides. Make sure that area is smooth (no pitting). If you find some pitting, you can sleeve that area with a S/S sleeve. That gives the seal a clean and very smooth surface to ride on. Otherwise, grease will leak out and water will enter between the seal and spindle. Some trailers come with the S/S sleeve already on the spindle, mine did. If you need them, they are available on line or at most trailer dealerships. They just slide right over the spindle and rest against the shoulder on the spindle where the seal rides. fishmanjj
Depends on if you have straight or stepped spindles, Tie Down makes both. My AmeriTrail for my 2200XL is tandem axles with stepped spindles and it uses a 1 3/8" x 1 1/16" bearing kit by Long Run bearing kits which is owned by Tie Down.Com
