fishmanjj
I got a chance to do some daylight fishing this weekend with my son....targeting redfish, however we didn't turn down a few trout and flounder as well. Here's a pic of one of the redfish caught on a 7 ft Falcon rod / Shimano 2500 Sedona / 1/4 oz jig head / DOA copper crush We held him next to boat in horizontal position, slowly going forward allowing water to go through his gills and he revived with no problems....we seldom lift a over slot fish out of water, but when we do, we keep it horizontal. I've always heard do not lift a big fish up and hold vertically if you are going to release it.
whichwaysup
That's a nice fish right there! Sounds like a great trip!
JEM
That's a pretty big boy. Nice fish. I can't bring myself to fish this heat. I guess I'm just too long in the tooth!
fishmanjj
JEM ... You are correct about the heat....we went out at daylight, which happened to be low tide and fished until around 10:00 and we got out...we rinsed boat off, cleaned fish and got out of the heat.
