tailingloops
I've come across a year end deal on a Redfisher 18. Boat has everything I want and nothing I don't. Looking for input on the new hull. Dry ride? Hull slap? How bad is it. Draft? Can I get to 10" lightly loaded with 115hp? I do plan to pole the boat but not all day, every day. Majority of time I use the trolling motor. What else should I know? Any input appreciated.
fishmanjj
I have a friend at Big Pine that has a 2015 model, and it is a great boat, very dry. He has Yam 115 and a 80lb I Pilot and we go in some very skinny places down there.
szainey
Not sure about the new hull. My 2007 will get that shallow with just me in it, but becomes a little tougher at times with a buddy, ice, drinks, etc. I have the F150 on the back. I go trolling motor most of the time as well and at times the stern will squat a little into the mud in shallow water, but will still easily move through. I find that when using the trolling motor most of the time, you really need at least 10" anyway otherwise the potential cavitation spooks every redfish I'm after. M.A.
I have the 18" with a 150 Yamaha, and love it. Very little hull slap, but not bad at all. Pretty dry too. Like szainey said, need around 10" of water to use a trolling motor quietly.
