Fishtails
I love my ipilot and all the features that it has. That being said I wish there was a feature that allows me to disengage the ipilot and operate as a hand control when I'm up close in the mangroves. Seems like it would be simple. THE OUTLAW
All you would need to do is fabricate a collar to fit over the shaft , put it inbetween the drive gear and the height adjustment collar. This would allow you to turn the head . Attach a troller arm. Should be good to go . Speed is another problem .
linesider 159
Take a pvc pipe and cut a slit in it, pop it over the shaft between depth collar and base. Attach extender handle that clamps onto shaft. Instant hand control ipilot. You can still use the remote to steer as well. Or get a foot pedal. If you aren't using the navigation /compass feature, you should be
triplec
Thats for sure! My drive motor went out couple of ipilots back but all I had to do was turn the collar upside down and steer the head and use remote for speed. If the collar is upside down it doesn't lock and yet still enough tension to hold course.
Ksayles44
Are there wireless foot control for ipilots? Does the motor use whatever input it gets or do you need to have one on at a time?
Limitless
Dont know if there are wireless , but when fishing in close or easing along a bank to fish, the fob drives me nuts because I am "steering" and my guests are fishing. I got a foot control for those times and it's great. The one I got has a long cord and I can use it on the poling platform to steer the Ipliot.
