Marshfly
I want to put a couple of Kennedy tie downs in front of the console to tie down a yeti and occasionally a 6ft tower for redfish tournaments. Since I can't get underneath there to through bolt it, what length screw would be best to make sure I go through the fiberglass on both sides of the coring (if there is such) but not go too far while making sure it has enough strength. jason p
The decks on these HPX's are super thin, I personally wouldn't bolt a platform to it without a nut and washer, or backing plate on the backside. I have a 35qt Yeti in front of the console, not tied down and it doesn't move. Between the weight of the cooler and the rubber feet it's pretty solid. conocean
What Jason said. I put a 65engel or 80yeti coffin style in front of my console and they may move an inch or two but only in the roughest conditions.
Marshfly
The tie downs aren't really for the Yeti, they are for the platform. It just so happens that the tie down holes on the platform I have are spaced exactly the same as the tie down holes in my Yeti 50. Sounds like I need to figure out a different way to tie it down. Headhunter
I am a no holes sort of guy. When we had the micro built MBC deleted the tie down at my own request. Same for the Pathfinder. The Engel sits fine on its rubber feet.
