Waterman18
Does anyone have any experience with the Merc, 150 4 stroke on a PF 22? I currently have a 2006 22TE w/ Yamaha F150 and am thinking about re powering. Merc. is cheaper and has excellent reviews, just wondering if it's as powerful as Yamaha 150. With T Top I can get 42-43 mph top end with 3 blade Yamaha prop.
Bamaskeet
Mercury F150 has a good reputation. But by the time you change out the controls and gauges a Yamaha F150 would be a better choice. Both engines are strong and reliable.
northernsnooker
The best bang for your buck is probably a Suzuki. They have a 150, 175 or 200 inline 4.

Shane White
I have a 99 2200V with the Mercury 150 4S, It is a solid motor for this boat. I had the 200 VMax and it would go 49MPH the Mercury tops out at 42MPH. I tend to go 35 MPH unless I'm trying to outrun a storm. Fuel economy is the best feature. I can run up Whitewater Bay to Broad River fish all day jump at least 10 spots and go 4200RPM all the way home (70miles RT) and only burn 12 gallons. I also have a T-TOP and way too much gear. I dont remember the powertech prop right off hand but we tried a few and got it right. I can get on plane in about the length of the boat it just pops up and I never really mess with the trim. I chose holeshot over top end. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
