Thanks, it's amazing on how much longer things take to do when you can only do it nights and weekends. Just hit the year and half point and still married! If everything goes as planned it should be painted within the next 2 weeks then we can start rigging it. Planning on being 100% by the first of the year.

Well with 6 guys, some 1/2" pvc for rollers, we slid the boat off the traiter, flipped it and cranked it back on the trailer in 1/2 hour.Time to sand and fill then paint.

Sanded off 4 coats off paint down to the original yellow gelcoat. Filling all holes and scrapes and put an extra layer off 7208 on the keel.

So I'm taking the back way to a funeral in Boca on the rainy Friday and I see an upside down Lappy. I know I had seen the San Diego Chargers' colors on the hull..

Making a note, I went back that way after the Service. Luckily, the hull was getting sanded in the rain, so I stopped.

It is always great meeting MHP folks, especially those who make the effort to restore a piece of fishing history. I can say that this boat will be stronger and stiffer than any other Lappy ! This man is an engineer and is using the latest lightweight ceramic fillers in his stringers and transom.

Hats Off !! A pleasure meeting you and good luck with the finishing work..

Marc

Hey Marc, hope you don't mind, but I had to get rid of the San Diego colors on the boat. Finally she's all grey. Will be sanding down with 320 in the morning and putting color on her. You don't know how good this feels. No more sanding and fibergl*** work. Can't wait! Finally can start rigging.

Beautiful. I like the way that color/paint looks different depending on your angle and what it is near. I will bet it looks much bluer on the water.

You should put a before and after pic side by side, or new viewers are not going to appreciate where this project came from. Truly a fabulous job by your family.

We got the boat rolled back over today and back on the trailer. I love this color paint! It seems to absorb the color of whats around it. In the bright sun it almost looks white but at dusk it a deeper blue. Next to the gr*** it almost looks like seafoam green. We put new bunks and supports on the trailer before loading the boat on it.
