**2011 MBC OT in Islamorada**

Recommended Posts

Let's get this party started! September 29th - October 1st at the Breezy Palms in Islamorada. The registration form and itinerary have been posted : http://mbcboats.com/owners-tourn-reg.html.

Since everyone gave the thumbs up to last year's changes, let's stay with the same setup -- Micro fiber tournament T's, breakfasts from the Lore-E-Lei, and BBQ Bob on Saturday night. Plus a little fishing mixed in.

See you there.

-- So who's going to post the countdown calendar with the cheesy music?

We have a couple of Tournaments coming up before this OT, so let's try to give them some top spot exposure.. The Charlotte Harbor get-together, and the Spartan Tourney in August..

We can talk smack after they finish..

Mrs. BS and I also, very unfortunately, will be unable to attend, as I will be starting my new job at Univ. of West Georgia.

I know this school is unheard of by most. However, in my circles, this is a huge step up for us, and by far the best position of my career. It is not well-known as it is a small school, but our accounting program is a small group of powerhouse professors graduating small groups of powerhouse accountants who are placed in some of the best positions available for beginning accountants. It is an unbelievable honor to be invited to join them.

I have applied to this school four times without a look (I have always had to apply to at least one school that is out of my league just because...), and then the right people pointed out the right aspects of my vita (resume) at the right time (friends in the right places at the exact right time). I have been trying to get a job at this school for fifteen years. Suddenly, while out in TX at Corpus Christi on the usual 1 1/2 day interview, I received an email out of the blue from this school. I went on a 90 minute (instead of day-and-a-half) interview at the end of last week, and after being excused for a 30-minute break, was offered a job on-the-spot. It is by far the best school for which I have every worked, with arguably the nicest and absolutely the most talented group of colleagues I have ever had the honor to work with. The money blows away anything I have made previously as well, but the chance to work in this environment, with colleagues who believe in our role as educators as much as I do, is the true reward and aspect I am most excited about.

So - we will be along in 2012 with the Knotty. Y'all have a good time, post plenty of pictures, and don't forget to toast Littlejohn.

Dan
