ifixmerc
After six months of grinding, sanding, and a lot of gl*** work and rigging all the work has finally paid off. I aquired the boat through a friend it had no numbers or any way to correctly find out what year it actually is. The best I can tell it was early 70's. The cap looked like swiss cheese and all the decks and floor was rotten. I raised the front casting deck and installed a 24 gallon tank. Gl***ed a oval live well in the rear with battery storage on either side and tackle storage. I could not find a console for a decent price so I built my own and gl***ed it into the hull. Installed lencos, furuno gp-32,furuno ls6100,and a vhf. With the 90 e-tec I'm making 33knots @ 5100 not too bad but it jumps out of the hole. I never owned a hewes but this hull design impressed the hell out of me very dry boat.

ifixmerc
No it's a shame I didn't take any before pictures. I have built a lot of boats in the past I just jumped right in on this one. This boat was ready for the dump I just really liked the lines and thought it would be a good riding hull. There are some things I would have done different if I were building it again, but all in all it turned out great. I've built and sold a lot of boats in the past this one I will keep as my own. slyshon
Nicely done and great to see a cl***ic brought back to life! Skip
ifixmerc
What year do you think this boat is I think its pre 72 there were no numbers in the hull. the spray rail looked to be original or were they added on. And finally the model I'm pretty sure it is a bonefisher it measures a bit over 16 to the transom and 17 to the live sell boxes.
slyshon
I don't know but would guess early to mid 70's. Skip
fshnmgcn76
Great Work!!! That hull looks just like my '70, but I think they used that mold for a few years. Great job on the console. Did you use a mold? Or is it a laminated core you built it with? Thanks for the input on the etec. I am thinking of going that route when I re-power. ghostrider66
Great job on the rebuild. Gotta love the cl***ics. I like your choice of power.
ifixmerc
The console is made of wood with gl*** there was no mold just made it off the hip just like the rest of the boat. I used bi-axle stitch gl*** and a lot of filler. The e-tec is bad to the bone. I have been a marine technician for 14 years and this engine impressed the heck out of me all the hype os true thus far. ifixmerc
I have the new rouge 4 blade prop from bombardier I also have a viper to be honest they both perform close to each other top end the hole shot on the four blade is very good. I make 34 knots at 5300rpm. I love this 90 e-tec lots of low end torque.
barebones
What pitch are you running on that prop because i have heard on other post from yamaha 90 owner's that they are getting close to 44 mph if im not mistaken with a 3 or 4 blade powertech prop's . Because I'm realy interested in getting a new 90 etech. Thank's for the info cheif.
