whichwaysup
Gorgeous!! Congrats on owning a classic! Those berg/early MA hulls were really light, much "skiffier" than the later versions which are built like tanks.
RacerxV6
Very pretty classic! What HP are you pushing it with? A 150 e-tc

whichwaysup
I was getting 43 out of my 87 MA with a 2 stroke 115 yamaha if that helps.
RacerxV6
Gus, Did you notice a big difference in the ride between you 87 and your 01? I found a 78' in Long Island that requires an entire cap-off restore, which I want to do.

Yeah mine had fixed Bennett tabs. Was only getting 35 mph. Took them off and gained almost 6 mph. The baitwell extensions on transom to me act as trim tabs anyways. Am I wrong. whichwaysup
Mine didn't have tabs and didn't need them. I could really get the bow down just by trmiming the engine. My 2000 on the other hand needs tabs at mid range speeds and cetrain fuel levels to avoid porpoising. Racer, in addition to what i shared above, the ride is similar between the two in the abilit to eat up chop. The later models ride heavier and feel sturdier, the older models feel lighter and sit a little higher.
